SAUDI ARABIA: CRC alternative report on inhuman sentencing of children

This report was submitted ahead of the 73rd pre-sessional working group of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child as part of our campaign against inhuman sentencing of children - defined to include sentences of death, life imprisonment and corporal punishment.

The death penalty, life imprisonment and corporal punishment all remain lawful in Saudi Arabia for offences committed while under the age of 18. At the time of writing, three young men were at risk of imminent execution for offences they allegedly committed as children.

Международная сеть по правам ребенка (CRIN) 14 - 15 мая провела рабочий семинар по правовой адвокации в Киеве, Украина. Семинар "Бросая вызов нарушениям прав детей с помощью правовой адвокации" был организован совместно с Женским Консорциумом Украины и Коалицией по правам ребенка в Украине. Это четвертый по счету семинар по правовой адвокации, организованный CRIN. Мы начали программу семинаров по правовой адвокации с национального семинара в Турции в 2011 году, а также провели два региональных семинара в Непале (2013 г.) и Танзании (2015 г.).
